There has been a real buzz of excitement around school as we welcomed our duckling eggs from Incredible Eggs. The eggs have been in Willow Class where the children eagerly observed the eggs each day for change and watched in amazement as the ducklings hatched before their eyes. This hands-on experience brought our learning about life cycles to life, helping the children develop a deeper understanding of growth and change in such a short period of time.

Throughout this experience, the children showed great compassion and responsibility, carefully helping to care for the ducklings and ensuring all their needs are met. The children have been busy choosing and voting for their favourite names for them and our adorable ducklings are called; Rex, Woody, Jessie and Buzz! We have especially enjoyed teaching the ducklings how to swim and watching their first experience in water. We can’t wait to continue to see how much they grow and learn as we continue to care for them over the coming weeks.

This is such a wonderful learning opportunity for all the children that has inspired curiosity, nurtured empathy, and created lasting memories for all the children (and staff!).
