How we support our families at Ganneys Meadow School
Here at Ganneys Meadow we believe in strong partnerships between caregivers and teaching staff. We offer every opportunity for our families to share their concerns and success stories with us. We invite our parents to come along and see our provision in practice by hosting welcome visits and evenings, settling in sessions and stay and play events. We promote honest and open communication by offering home visits, telephone calls and we utilise our online journal and messaging service via The Tapestry app. Ganneys Meadow school SEND team works collaboratively with parents to ensure every need and concern is met. Our school SENCO Stephanie Rushworth is supported by pastoral worker Sarah Bell and Speech and Language Assistant Lesley Clayton. We have specialist SEND teaching staff in our Dragonfly EYFS resource base provision. Equally, all teaching staff within Ganneys receive regular and ongoing SEND training to ensure we are offering high-quality teaching to our pupils. As part of our pastoral offer to parents we work collaboratively with Early Childhood Services and have school readiness worker Emma Carney and family support worker Jade Tyler in place at school, this allows parents to seek assessment and support at the earliest point. Through this partnership we offer support for caregivers when completing forms via direct appointment with our onsite CAB advisor. We are committed to inclusivity and celebrating diversity in our pupils. This is captured in the “I know….so” learning journey, not only does this allow teaching staff to provide a person centred learning plan for our pupils, but it also ensures that care givers can play their part by inputting their own personal experiences and expert knowledge of the child. Working in close partnership with our families has allowed us to gain a greater understanding of support needs. We hold knowledge sessions for parents on “the pathway to diagnosis “with the school SEND team. We host spotlight sessions with professionals’ such as Speech and Language therapists, Occupational Health teams and Educational Psychologists. Professional teams we work with:- Wirral SEND team
