Greetings from Kenya
We had a visit from John from the Global Schools Network and he brought hearts which had been drawn and decorated by new friends at a school in Kenya! At the beginning of the week we looked at a map of the world and saw how far away Kenya is from our country. We looked at photographs of the children in their classes and the children had noticed that the school was different to ours. The children were all sitting at desks and there were no toys in the pictures like we have at Ganneys Meadow.
Today the children have created their own hearts to send to the new friends at the school in Kenya using a variety of different resources including collage and paint. When they are dry, John will come to collect them and send them to Kenya for the children there.
Over the school year we will be sharing more of our experiences at school with our Kenyan sister school and they will be doing so with us. We will of course keep you up to date with this exciting project which is a totally new experience for the children.
