Safeguarding

The wellbeing and safety of the children and adults at Ganneys is our priority. Staff access regular training to ensure that they keep abreast of updated information in relation to keeping children safe. Safeguarding children is everyone’s responsibility. Everyone who comes into contact with children and families has a role to play ensuring children and young people are safe from abuse, exploitation and harm. Our school is committed to safeguarding children and aims to create a culture of vigilance. Our pupils’ welfare is our paramount concern.
Our safeguarding team at Ganneys includes the following:
  • The Designated Safeguarding Lead is Kathryn Kennedy (Headteacher)
  • The Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead is Stephanie Rushworth (Deputy Headteacher and Senco)
  • The nominated Safeguarding Governor is Anne McMullan
  • The additional trained Designated Safeguarding Leads are Jade Tyler (Early Childhood Family Worker) and Tina Harris (Lead Teacher)
  • The School Readiness Worker is Emma Carney

All staff are responsible for safeguarding children. A copy of our policy can be found below.

We use CPOMs (Child protection Online Monitoring System) to record information about children, including any concerns that anyone may have. Communication is vital and we work closely with a range of agencies to support families and keep children safe. Our preference is to discuss any concerns with you directly and we welcome any information that you may need to share in relation to life at home that may impact on your child’s safety or wellbeing.
