“I wonder what we are celebrating?”
- Can your child retell you the story at home?
- Can you make your own potions?
- Could you make your own wand?
- Can you make your own puppets to help you retell the story?
- Can you see any of the animals from the story when you are out?
- Can you visit the library and find any other rhyming books or Julia Donaldson books to share?
- Can you join in with the Talk for Writing shared via tapestry at home. Can your children show you the actions?
- Could you junk model your own broomstick? You could even use natural resources!

- Can you visit the library and find any space books?
- Can you make your own junk modelled rocket? Maybe for your own bear to visit the moon!
- Explore more about what astronauts do. What might they wear? How do they get too space?
- Talk about day and night and what we might see in the sky at different times of the day.
- What would you take to the moon? Could you make a shopping list and have your own picnic?
- Could you sing songs together such as 5 little men in a flying saucer and twinkle, twinkle little star.
- Could you make your own rocket out of blocks or lego?

Maths Home Learning:
Our Focus number this half term is 2 and we will also be exploring pattern. Here are some ways to support your child at home:
- Can your child identify numbers in the environment?
- Can your child start to copy/write any numbers they see?
- Can your child find shapes in the environment?
- Can you create your own simple AB pattern, for example, using two natural resources; leaf, conker, leaf, conker- what would be next?
- Number blocks on BBC IPlayer is also a great resource.
Knowledge and Understanding of the World Home Learning:
- Can you talk about what the weather is like each day?
- How many animals can you find around your local area? What animals do we see in the day? What animals might we see at night?
- Can you go on a litter pick around your local area to help make sure the animals don’t eat it?
