All About Us - Our Ethos and Values

We are now accepting applications for paid and funded place for 2, 3 and 4 year olds for September 2024 in our OUTSTANDING nursery school. Please contact the school office for an application form or to book a tour.

Ganneys Meadow School and Family Centre is a warm, welcoming and nurturing environment where everyone is greeted with a smile. Our excellent long standing reputation in the local community and beyond makes us the first choice for many families looking for a Nursery place for their 2, 3 or 4-year-old child.

From September 2022 we were delighted to offer provision for Reception and Key Stage one children in partnership with the Local Authority. This has now been extended to a 36 place resource provision for this age group. Preparation for this has involved the conversion of the old community library to enable us to develop additional purposeful learning spaces.  Our highly experienced staff work as part of our whole school team to nurture children as individuals in our inclusive school environment.

In our classrooms, children are transported into a world of adventure, exploration and discovery as they learn about the world, and engage in activities and play that will help to prepare them for school. Our children can choose to lead their learning through selecting equipment from our well-resourced classrooms, engaging in activities led by an adult or working with their friends on plans and projects. Every day really is a new adventure and no two are the same!

Our extensive outdoor learning environment provides lots of opportunities to explore the great outdoors whilst the children listen to the birds, smell the blossom and play hide and seek in the willow dens in our beautiful gardens and forest area. Learning outside offers new experiences and the children love to make mud pies in the mud kitchens.

Many of our highly experienced and well-established team of staff have been working at Ganneys for many years. They know and understand the community and are experts in working with young children and their families. Staff have recently accessed current training from national EYFS experts to ensure that they have up to date knowledge and skills to equip them for the ever-changing educational landscape. Research into best practice early education is being updated all of the time and we are working towards the implementation of the new Development Matters from September 2021. Children across school are taught by qualified teachers and this is excellent preparation for the next stage of their journey when they begin in Reception at primary school. We work closely with primary schools all over the Wirral to ensure a smooth transition at this stage of your child’s education.

Our school is proud to have achieved the national Nurture Award in recognition of the support and our approach to children at Ganneys. To find out more about this then please click on our behaviour tab or more information can be found at:
